Are you all ready for Christmas??

Yea....me neither.

Party, party, party....wow the holiday season is getting to me. I don't know how those celebrity bitches do it. Drinking your brains out every night, not to mention the coke, xanax or any other drug du'jour. I've come to one realization.....

I'm too fucking old for that shit.

I've also realized that I'd like my skin and appearance to look like it should....somehow that's a little more important to me than hard partying. Anyone take a good look at Blohan lately? She looks worse than she did a year or so ago when she was all skin and bones.

Anyway, it is the season of cocktail parties, get togethers and social gatherings. I'm guilty of not only attending but giving. HOB and I will be hosting a New Year's Eve party at home. So far about 15-20 people will be attending, a good mix of rednecks, business professionals and fun drunks. I'll fill you in after the gig.

My brother in law will be playing a gig with his band in Calgary, Alberta. Good luck to them! I wish I could be there for it...they play some great cover rock shit and also have their own stuff.

Merry Fucking Christmas!

What I would like this year....sorry if I'm unusually cranky but the Christmas spirit has yet to kick me in the ass. I have my shopping done, some baking finished and my tree is up. I should mention that I've only put lights on my tree this year....no ornaments, tinsel or anyother crap. I figure I'm going for the minimalist look this year. You kneacow what? I kinda like it.

On to my Christmas wish list......
1. Never to see Britney's cooter again.....ever, ever, ever.....
2. Never to hear the name Paris Hilton and album or movie together....please
3. Never to see another picture of a coked out Lindsay Lohan
4. World peace.....thought I would throw that one in for my Honey
5. Peace in my family....yea a lot of shit has been going down since my last post
6. And a beer...in a tree (thank you Bob and Doug Mackenzie!)

Hello people! I hope everyone will honor the Irish and have a few cocktails today! I'm not one for green beer...I like green apple martinis better!

We have a wedding to go to this evening. One of our new employees. Going to be small, intimate and probably over quickly.

This has been one busy week. We've been implementing some changes and one employee in particular has not been welcoming the change. Of course this person has been here 30 years, and in my opinion 35 years too long. I understand no one likes change, but this is change for the better. What is the point of fighting it?

My 20th high school reunion is next year. I've slowly been contacting some old mates and finding out that we are all doing quite well.

This weekend will be quiet. Still unpacking some boxes from the move. We'll get some things up on the walls, maybe do some shopping for some other things.

Have I mentioned how much I love my new house?

Moved in......finally!


Ok, congratulate us....we are officially homeowners again! We searched and searched and searched and finally found the closest thing to our dreamhouse. 2800 square feet, 4 level split, professionally designed kitchen (with 2 ovens....my HOB still can't figure out why I need 2 ovens....then I told him I could bake a cake AND cookies at the same time....he understands now!)

Thanks to our fabulous friends we got everything moved in last weekend and we are pretty much settled in. I have 2 walls to paint and we will start to get things hung on the wall tomorrow. The basement is a big family/party room with a built in wet bar. I think I'm going to decorate it with a "games" theme.

So, aside from moving, I've also been really busy at work. Busy is good. Busier is even better! Ready for a quick laugh.....

One of our sales people is dealing with a customer that wants to buy a small pickup (Ford Ranger). He gets her the right price, right payments, right vehicle. She is getting a small downpayment from her wallet.....stops in mid grab and says.......

"God told me not to buy today."

Yea, I'm serious. I don't have the imagination to make this shit up.

She said this with a straight face and meant every single word.

Now you know why I drink?

She put her money back and walked right out.

I hope God tells her to come back. I'd like to ask her how I get a direct line like that.

Enough for now, kids. Momma is almost ready to go home, take a nice bubble bath, have some wine and make a lovely steak dinner with baked asparagus, salad and roasted sweet potatoes.

I know what to do with 2 ovens!!!

Thanks to Liquidgeneration.com and their quiz I am a Dumb Genius. While this should give me something tangible, like public affection, accolades or at least a bonus in pay, I fear none of this will happen. It will be lost in cyberspace like 90% of the crap floating around.

Be gentle with me today please......I'm ready to curl into the fetal position and die. My HOB had a birthday on Thursday. Our lovely friends took us out for "A" beer to celebrate. Several beers and shots later we are all at the local 24 hour eatery looking for something fried and hot to eat. Table of 12 drunks at 4 am.......send warm thoughts to our waitress, will you? I'm sure her doctor will need to up her meds.

We have some of the best people in the world as friends. It's been a long time since I've laughed or danced so much.

My eyeballs are going to pop out any second. I'm leaving now........

12 inches....something I'm not usually afraid of, however when it's all over and there is no getting away from it I tend to want to bury my head under the covers.

We gots tons, baby! More expected over the weekend! I just hope a lot of it is gone before we do the big move on the 4th of March. My parents are currently in Arizona and dad asked me this morning to make sure it's all gone before they come back. Yea, I'll be right on that, dad.

Let me just say this.......Olympic coverage on US tv SUCKS!!!!! You know, there are more athletes than just the Americans. Canadian Broadcast Corp (CBC) had pretty much 24 hour coverage (they broke for news but that's about it). They showed all the events, not just the ones that had the US athletes with the big NIKE sponsorships. It was complete coverage. They limited their fucking profiles and showed ALL athletes from ALL countries!

No, I don't feel a whole lot better, but some, thanks for asking.
